Thorndon Fair is run by Thorndon School, and is the School's main annual fundraiser. Entry is by gold coin donation, with all proceeds to the School. The School also runs a second-hand book stall, quick-fire raffle and senior students' stall.

Fair day

The Thorndon Fair is a huge street fair that highlights the charms of historic Thorndon. Over 20,000 people and 250 stallholders gather on the first Sunday of December every year.

History

The Thorndon Fair has run since 1977. It was set up by the Thorndon Society and then gifted to Thorndon School in 1983. The School has been involved since 1977.

Location

The Fair operates in Tinakori Rd (Bowen St to Harriett St) and Hill St (Tinakori Rd to Selwyn Tce). We are also kindly given space in the carparks of Premier House and Thorndon Dental. The main Fair entrances are at either end of Tinakori Rd, or just up from Parliament on Hill St. The link below is to a custom Google map of the Fair.
